Here's my example of a NO LAYERS card.
I stamped my main image first, then masked it (stamped the same image a second time on some scratch paper, cut it out leaving about 1/8" around the image, and placed it over the image on my card) and then stamped my background images. I used a Copic Marker in BV000 Iridescent Mauve to shade around the image (this is why I left a 1/8" buffer) to make it stand out a little.

Punch: Fiskars Border Punch Threading Water
Stickles: Lavender
Flowers: Prima
Copic Markers: Skin/Eoo, E33, R20 Hair/ E17, E11, E29 Dress/V15, V17, Y00, Y21 Bunny/BG11, BG72
