Taking the Weekend Off!

Just a few announcements....

I'm exhausted. Okay, that's not really an announcement. But, it is a fact! I have a class to teach today and a bunch of things I need to get done. Like go stand in the yucky post office line. So, if I'm MIA this weekend, I'll be back on Monday!

Exciting news! Sweet Pea Stamps has retained a few new artists!! One of the artists will be announced on Thursday, February 25th. The Sweet Pea Stamps DT will be hosting a blog hop previewing the new artist's sheets. There's a SNEAK PEEK in my badge up above!! Come back on Thursday to see my whole card! And, that's not all....there's a super SPECIAL line of stamps coming next week....want another hint? Stay tuned.

On Friday, I will have a special edition of FFF with The Greeting Farm, featuring a preview of a whole NEW line! You don't want to miss it!

The wonderful Suzi aka mrsweyremaster posted a wonderful Promarker version of my Copic 3 Color Vintage Tutorial posted below. She did an amazing job! So, for all you Promarker fans out there, go check it out!!

And, lastly, I have to link to my friend Gen, who finally took the Copic plunge last night! We had an open Copic night at Paper Tales and as a student, she gets an A+ and a big smiley face!! She created this masterpiece with a Sweet Pea image....on her FIRST attempt!! Wow!

FFF and 3 Color Copic Vintage Tutorial

Welcome to Farm Fresh Friday at The Greeting Farm! This weeks FFF challenge is a color challenge! Kraft, Chocolate Chip, and Groovy Guava/Melon Berry.

I was really color challenged this week!! I don't have a lot of guava/melon colors!! So, I used my "Coral Berry" Tattered Angels glimmer mist...this is an OLD version. The new version is called "Sunkissed Peach". It's a gorgeous peach/melon with salmon/coral glimmer! I colored my image with my Copic Markers, then spritzed a little on the corners for color.

VINTAGE 3 COLOR TUTORIAL:

This is a super fast and very easy vintage look. I only used these 3 Copic colors: E40, E42, E70

First I used E40, basically outlining the whole image:

I then went back and added some E42 to areas I wanted more shaded:

Last, I added just a touch of E70 to areas I wanted deeper shading:

I might go back and add some E40 to areas that are too white..like her eyes, etc. And that's it!

Here I used Solar White because it shows up better in photos. But you can also use Natural White, like the Sweet Pea image within the butterfly in my post here.

Hello everyone and welcome to week #23 of Whimsical Wednesday challenges at The Diedrich Dare!

This week's challenge is a beautiful color challenge issued by the magnificent Mad Hatter, herself, Jessica! Just in time to get us in the mood for Spring!! What's all this Mad Hatter talk?? Guess you should go down the rabbit hole and find out for yourself! Congrats on the amazing new blog Jess! Oh, what fun!

So, on to this week's COLOR CHALLENGE:
I know everyone's monitor's will probably view this slightly different, so I will give you some color descriptions. Anything close, will be just fine!
Light Olive/avocado
Rose/pink
Sky blue/light aqua
Hot pink/raspberry

For my card today, I used a small glassine envelope from Papertreyink. These are the perfect size for ATCs. And, a great way to attach your ATC to a card without ruining it! I used decorative scissors to cut the bag at an angle, so most of the image would show, but left enough that the ATC would stay firmly in place. I added a few border lines with a ruler and my aqua Souffle pen by Sakura.

A few of you have commented on my bright colors. If you see a card with shocking, vivid colors, chances are I am using my Fluorescent Copics. For instance, FV2, is Fluorescent Dull Violet. A gorgeous bright purple. You can see it on my card posted here. My favorite bright pinks however, are RV04 Shock Pink and RV06 Cerise. And, yes, they are bright! One of these days when they find a cure for sleep, I will get a chart of flourescents and brights up for you. ;o)

Stamps: The Greeting Farm-Cheeky Cherry "Rockabilly", "Angel Anya" [wings and halo]

This week is Flutter by Wednesday challenge #97!!! Our challenge this week is to use HEARTS, just be sure to include a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creations.

For today's card, I altered Miss Rockabilly a bit. I cut and moved one of her legs. I also added the wings and halo from Angel Anya. She looks slightly more like a "Charlie's Angel", than an angel.
