Oh, Alice Ch. 37: Halloween in Wonderland

*PLEASE scroll down for today's The Greeting Farm preview**

Stamp: Sweet Pea Stamps - Elaine Cox "Twilight Halloween"

Hey everyone!

The Oh, Alice Challenge blog is having a "just for fun" post today that doesn't follow a book excerpt or poem...just a good ol' fashioned HALLOWEEN theme!

After all, tomorrow IS Halloween and it's time to showcase some fun projects, and many of us are using the Graphic 45 special line of papers, Halloween in Wonderland!

My first card features a Halloween Sweet Pea Stamp by Elaine Cox. I colored it with Copics and then sprayed a whole lot of Tattered Angel's glimmer mist in my fav color...Coffee Shop.

Copic Markers: Cape/Hat: W7, W6, W3, E70, E71, RV00; Skin: E51, E42; Hair: W3, E40, B60, G000, BV31; Dress: E40, B41, W3; Tree: E35, E33, E74, RV06; Background: V09, RV06, B00

Just for fun, I also included a wall hanging decoration made with one of the keys from the Maya Road key album and papers from Graphic 45.

We really hope you enjoy our projects today and that you feel like playing along! Today our VERY generous DT member Ky is offering up a set of Alice stamps by Elaine Cox! Even more of a reason to get creepy or crafty this week and show us what you can do!

Be sure to stop by the blogs of my Team Mates:

Here's the list of DT members participating today:

The OTHER Cheeky Xmas set is UP FOR GRABS as this week's FFF prize!, so be sure to play along!

For my tags today, I started with kraft tags. For the one above I used 2 Copic Markers. RV000 and V12. Just to give it a little shading. I also used a Sakura white paint pen in extra fine and a Stardust clear gel pen for accents. The bottom tags I left uncolored.

These make very fast tag projects for gifts. The "Sparkly Cheers" is perfect for a champagne or other bubbly treat!! The set comes with the fabulous 3 sentiments I used here and the cute little tree button that is easily punched with the green Marvy 1" circle punch!!

Oh, Alice Ch. 35: Chess

Stamps: Sweet Pea Stamps - Elaine Cox's Alice Series

CHAPTER 35: CHESS - CHESSBOARD - CHESSMEN
"They don't keep this room so tidy as the other,' Alice thought to herself, as she noticed several of the chessmen down in the hearth among the cinders: but in another moment, with a little `Oh!' of surprise, she was down on her hands and knees watching them. The chessmen were walking about, two and two!
`Here are the Red King and the Red Queen,' Alice said (in a whisper, for fear of frightening them), `and there are the White King and the White Queen sitting on the edge of the shovel -- and here are two castles walking arm in arm..."
--Ch. 1: Through the Looking Glass

This week's challenge (created by Lynne!):
Use some aspect of the game of chess! You might want to use a checkerboard pattern, or feature a King, Queen, Knight or Castle (Rook), or some other aspect of the game we haven't thought of - we just need to be able to clearly see CHESS in your creation!

Thanks to our generous sponsor, PAPER MANIAC, this week, they are giving away a set of Artistic Outpost Alice in Wonderland mini-stamps AND a sheet of E.A.D. Designs Stickerz! You have until FRIDAY, October 29th to enter your creation over at the OAC blog.

For my chess theme, I went with black & white, chess board pattern, and a little Chess-ire cat, too. ;o)

Have fun!

Here's some inspiration from the DT before we 'pawn' you off on your own to create this week:

Farm Fresh Friday Enveloped

Stamps: The Greeting Farm - "Flutter Anya" & "Princess Anya" & "Mermaid Anya"
Book: Kraft envelopes folded in half, secured with Scor-Pal tape. My favorite envelopes for these mini books are the ones with the straight edge closure flaps (not the triangular ones).

Today's Farm Fresh Friday challenge:

Kim Nath had a great idea to incorporate envelopes into the challenge. You can create a card using a pocket or envelope template, decorate your envelope, anything goes as long as there is some sort of envelope.

To participate in this week's challenge, please see the rules over at the TGF blog.

Oh, Alice Chapter 34: Knock, Knock...

Stamp: The Greeting Farm - "Sweet & Toxic":

CHAPTER 34: Knock, Knock, Knockin' on Wonderland's Door

"Alice laughed so much at this, that she had to run back into the wood for fear of their hearing her; and when she next peeped out the Fish-Footman was gone, and the other was sitting on the ground near the door, staring stupidly up into the sky.

Alice went timidly up to the door, and knocked.

`There's no sort of use in knocking,' said the Footman, `and that for two reasons. First, because I'm on the same side of the door as you are; secondly, because they're making such a noise inside, no one could possibly hear you.' And certainly there was a most extraordinary noise going on within--a constant howling and sneezing, and every now and then a great crash, as if a dish or kettle had been broken to pieces.

`Please, then,' said Alice, `how am I to get in?'
~Chapter 6, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

At Oh, Alice this week, your challenge is to create a card or project using a Door, Gate, or Keyhole. Now, you can also get creative and do a gatefold technique, etc. As long as we can see it's a "Gatefold" or that there is a door, gate, or keyhole somewhere on your project! How FUN is this?

It's a Fall Flutter By Wednesday!

Stamp: Sweet Pea Stamps- Caron Vinson "Moonlight Fairy"
A quick version...and a not so quick version...

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday #126!
This weeks challenge:
Create a NEW creation using a butterfly, fairy or angel and the theme of Fall!
Leave a DIRECT link to your creation in the InLinkz at the FBW blog before 12:00 midnight on October 19th.

For my top card, another fast technique! I used Kraft cardstock and only 4 pens! Copic Markers in E40 and E43. An extra fine white paint pen and a Stardust clear. The white paint pen is super quick to use, but you could also use the Copic Opaque white like paint for more precision. (And not make a big splotchy boo-boo like I did!). I used one of the BRAND NEW Sweet Pea images by Caron Vinson. She is one of Sweet Pea's 3 new artists with incredible designs, so be sure to check them out.

Have fun and happy fluttering! Be sure to visit the Flutter By team:

Oh, Alice Ch. 34: Mad Tea Party

Ch.34: Mad Tea Party...
{pic coming soon...two classes this weekend are keeping me busy!}

`And ever since that,' the Hatter went on in a mournful tone, `he won't do a thing I ask! It's always six o'clock now.'
A bright idea came into Alice's head. `Is that the reason so many tea-things are put out here?' she asked.
`Yes, that's it,' said the Hatter with a sigh: `it's always tea-time, and we've no time to wash the things between whiles.'
`Then you keep moving round, I suppose?' said Alice.
`Exactly so,' said the Hatter: `as the things get used up.'
`But what happens when you come to the beginning again?' Alice ventured to ask.
~Chapter 7, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Your challenge this week is to explore things that could make up your tea-time activity. Use tea bag folding in the construction of your project. This is a great resource: Tea Bag Folding. Anything relating to time would pair perfectly with this challenge, but isn't a requirement! Show us your fab folding abilities, doing it Alice-style!

Oh, Alice Ch. 33: Dictionary

Stamp: Sweet Pea Stamps - Elaine Cox "Mad Tea Party"

Oh, Alice Ch. 33: Dictionary of Nonsense

Alice didn't dare to argue the point, but went on: `-- and I thought I'd try and find my way to the top of that hill -- '

`When you say "hill,"' the Queen interrupted, `I could show you hills, in comparison with which you'd call that a valley.'

`No, I shouldn't,' said Alice, surprised into contradicting her at last: `a hill can't be a valley, you know. That would be nonsense -- '

The Red Queen shook her head, `You may call it "nonsense" if you like,' she said, ` but I've heard nonsense, compared with which that would be as sensible as a dictionary!'
--Ch. 2: Through the Looking Glass

DT member Lynne is challenging us this week is to use TEXT in a NONSENSE way - not to read, but as a pattern in your card. Use a page from an old dictionary or other book, stamp a background text stamp or use a text-patterned paper in your creation. Link up your NEW CREATIONS over at the OAC blog and the design team will stop by to do some CREATIVE READING as we look at your entries this week!

The Greeting Farm is our SPONSOR this week, and not only are we thrilled to have them again, the prize just got sweeter! There is a RUBBER SINGLE OF CHOICE up for grabs for this challenge AS WELL as the highly-sought after "Wonderland" digital stamp set!

For my card today, I focused on coloring just the center of the image. I then used B0000 & B00 to color from the edges toward the middle. An easy technique to cut down on coloring time. ;o)
I also used the new Tim Holtz tissue tapes (LOVE!!) Hobgoblin & Tidings, now available at Paper Tales.
