Unity Friends with Flair Friday!

It is Friends with Flair Friday at Unity Stamp Co! See the Unity blog for a complete list of today's Friends with Flair.

For my Unity FWF project I altered some playing cards into ornaments after I saw an article in Somerset's Holidays & Celebrations issue, by Candyce Martens. I changed it up a bit, by adding mulberry paper, distress paint and glimmer mist. I then stamped over them with Versafine Onyx ink and Unity stamps! For the large butterfly, I embossed with gold EP.

Whimsical Wednesday at Diedrich Dare!

I am the featured Daredevil for week #11 over at the Diedrich Dare blog! And, what a great week, because this week's Whimsical Wednesday dare is an EASEL CARD! Madelynn was so inspired by her mom, Jess's amazing easel creations, she decided to issue this challenge! I am so excited, because I've been wanting to make one!

I have posted a diagram for the easel card over at the Diedrich Dare blog. And below is a photo tutorial to simplify it. Keep in mind, it can be any size. Or, altered in any way....just so long as it's an "easel". There are also some great tutorials if you do a search on SCS.

If you play along, be sure to post it to Mr. Linky at the Diedrich Dare Blog or with keyword DDSC11 over at Splitcoaststampers.com

Supplies:
The Greeting Farm- Summer Fairy Digi [to be released Nov. 19th]
Copic Markers
Stickles
DP: MME
Cuttlebug Embossing Folders

They really are simple. Remember, you can make them any dimension. Just be sure your front panel width is the same width as the panel you are attaching. The brad should be near the middle of your front panel. You could move it slightly closer like I did, to make the card more upright. You can fiddle with the dimensions, too. My card is actually 5x5 with scores at 2.5".

I hope these photos will help. I wanted to keep it as simple as possible. That little black dot is for your brad.

You only need 2 pieces. Your large panel only needs two score lines at 2" apart.

Fold your large panel at the score lines, like you would a letter.

Then AFTER you've completed your card piece, attach it to the panel like so....and you're done!

The Fairies are coming to digi at The Greeting Farm!!
Get your fairies on Thursday, November 19th!
See some more fairy samples at the Greeting Farm blog here.

And, for a lot of winged inspiration, be sure to check out Flutter by Wednesday challenge #84 Over at Danni's blog!

I cannot tell you how much fun I've had creating with this Fairy line. You all are going to fall in love with them!

I printed the digi [The Greeting Farm: Spring Fairy] on Kraft cardstock, then shaded with some tinted graphite pencils (a regular pencil would work, too), distressed the edges with walnut stain, sprayed with glimmer mist, and used Ice Stickles for the wings. I used more of that fabulous Japanese washi masking tape. This was a fast and easy card to make!

Unity Friends with Flair Friday!

[click pics for larger view]

It is Friends with Flair Friday at Unity Stamp Co! See the Unity blog for a complete list of today's Friends with Flair.
I am still loving my Unity Bingo stamp. For the background, I embossed some Bazzill textured cardstock in pale robin's egg and sprayed with Tattered Angels glimmer mist. I then rubbed the raised embossed areas with Peony and Brilliance in Lightning Black. It is a gorgeous black with metallic gold. Love that ink!!

Easy tag making! Just add 'To/From:' on the back. These hearts were punched from the new K&Co paper Viola Vita. I love this new line! It reminds me of Anthropologie! I want to wallpaper my house with it!! The punches are Marvy. Keeping the sizes straight..giga..extra jumbo..jumbo...gives me a headache, so I just refer to them by color. The large scallop is the purple size, the regular heart is the pink size, and the smaller heart is the blue size.

Supplies:
Unity Stamps: Game of Chance Bingo, Confession: I {luv} Unity
Ink: Brilliance-Lightning Black, Colorbox-Peony
Tattered Angels glimmer mist: Blue Skies, Lime Twist, Mimosa
Ice Stickles: Coffee
DP: K&Co Viola Vita, Prima
Marvy punches

New Mermaids and New TGF limited Digis!

[click pic for larger view]

This is for the Customer Color Challenge over at the Sweet Pea Stamps DT blog.

This is a brand new image by ©ching-chou kuik just released this week at Sweet Pea Stamps. These images are stunning! Very detailed and fun to color!

I kept it simple, because, well, I am horrible at color challenges! Telling me to use a few colors is like telling me I have to answer my survey with one word...and we all know how well that went. ;o)

So, the card itself goes with the color challenge, however the image has just a tad few more colors. Here are the challenge colors.

Supplies:
Stamps:
ching-chou kuik's Bamboo Serenade
Kodomo Suiboku sumi fish
Copic Markers: RV10, RV42, R14, R22, R35, R37, V12, BV02, BV04, BV13, BV17, BV23, G21, G85, Y00, Y21, E11, E17, E29, E31, E35, E40, E57, E50, W-3
Spica glitter pen: Clear, Lilac, Pink

Don't forget to get your VERY limited edition digis at The Greeting Farm today!
They will be taken down at midnight Sunday!
[ETA: POOF...they are gone!! Good news: Marie may turn a few into rubber! Stay tuned]

I WILL BE BACK LATER TODAY WITH SOME TWILIGHT TUESDAY CREATIONS!!

It should come as no suprise that I love making backgrounds! For these I used the Bevy of Butterflies and Le Chic Vintage kits. I inked up the butterflies with two shades of ink. I traced around each butterfly with my Sakura gelly roll in Silver Star. It's super glittery. The script background is from Le Chic Vintage, which was the September scrapbook kit of the month. October and November are still available at Unity. September is available at Paper Maniac.
